April 25 – The revamped Asian Champions League Elite has reached the quarter final stage with Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal SFC kicking off against South Korea’s Gwangju FC tonight in the first of the single leg ties at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah. 

The competition is now centralised in Saudi Arabia for its final week with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr, imperious throughout the competition to date, in action against Japan’s Yokohama F.

April 14 – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has confirmed Thailand and China as the host nations for its upcoming women’s youth tournaments, marking a significant step forward in the regional body’s strategy to elevate the women’s game across Asia.

Following approval by the AFC Executive Committee on April 11, The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) has been awarded hosting rights for the U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026, while the Chinese Football Association (CFA) will host three consecutive editions of the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup from 2026 to 2028.

April 1 – The 16-nation AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2025 kicks off Thursday, April 3 with the top eight finishers qualifying for the first of the expanded annual 48-team U-17 World Cups to be played in Qatar this November.

All matches will be played in the cities of Jeddah and Taif.
Record four-time champions Japan (1994, 2006, 2018, 2023) are one fo the favourites to win the title and are one of nine former winners.

The next edition of the Beach Soccer Asian Cup will see qualifiers played at the end of May 2026 with the finals in Indonesia in November.

March 21 – With goals from Daichi Kamada and Takefusa Kubo in a 2-0 victory against Bahrain, Japan became the first country to qualify for the enlarged 48-team 2026 World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada. 

In the second half, substitute Kamada opened the score before Kubo added the second three minutes from time to earn Japan three more points in the qualifiers and a ticket to the global finals next year.

March 18 – The draw for the last eight of the AFC Champions League Elite Finals Jeddah 2025 has pitched four West Asian sides against four from East Asia.

Under the renamed, revamped and repackaged Asian Champions League Elite teams the best teams from the two zones meet at the quarter final stage rather than previously not meeting until the final.

The quarter-finals will be centralised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and will be played as single tie knock-outs between April 25 and May 3.
